JURORS BIOGRAPHIES
Summer TimeTed Pankowski
For the past 19 years, Ted Pankowski has studied with a number of notable painters including Patricia Raab, Deanne Lemley, Diana Shynne, Henry Stinson, Ned Mueller, and John Ringen. Pankowski’s work is consistently juried into local and regional shows where he has been a occasional prize winner. In 2004, Pankowski’s painting “Marymoor Morning” won him the purchase award at the city of Kenmore annual art Festival. In 2007, he won the prestigious Joanne Rosenberg Memorial Award at the EAFA (Eastside Association of Fine Arts) member show at Trilogy of Redmond Ridge. His painting “Skiffs at Ease” has been featured in “Artist’s Photo Reference-Boats & Natural Scene” by Gary Greene, as well as in “The Ultimate Guide to Painting from Photographs”, North Lights Books. Pankowski currently teaches beginning oil and acrylic painting at Arts Umbrella in Bothell’s Country Village and maintains an independent studio in Woodinville with his wife Lynn Wilson. His affiliations include: Eastside Association of Fine Arts, NW Watercolor Society, Sammamish Valley Art League, and Washington Plein Air Painters. He chairs the Finance Committee for the Puget Sound Group of NW Painters. |
OrangesJacqui Beck
Jacqui Beck graduated with her MA from the University of Victoria in 1987. She continues to do courses and workshops with the Artist Trust Edge Professional Development Program and Gage Academy. In 2005, Beck’s work was featured at the Gallery North in Edmonds. The last two years and again this year, she has had solo and featured exhibits at the Columbia City Gallery. Beck has been in a number of juried shows including WCP Solutions’s Art Exhibition, Northwest Watercolor Society Waterworks, EAFA 31st Annual Juried Exhibition, Coos Art Museum Expression West, and Women Painters of Washington Serendipity. Publications include “A Metaphor for Life” in Artist’s Magazine in 2007 and “Enhance Paintings with Texture” in the Daniel Smith Catalog in 2008. Beck gives demos, lectures, and workshops with professional art groups: Daniel Smith, Artists United, Seattle League of Arts, and Greater Marysville Art Guild. She also teaches privately. Professional affiliations to Beck include: Northwest Watercolor Association, Co-Arts, Director of Art for Kids, Eastside Association of Fine Arts, Gallery North, & Columbia City Gallery. She is currently a board member with the Women Painters of Washington. |
Capitol Olympia WADonna Trent Graduate from the Seattle University, Donna Trent has her BA in psychology and an area major in art. Since then, she has studied under several well-known artists and taken workshops from many nationally recognized artists, although she gives most credit to her mentor, Bill McEnroe. Trent paints in several mediums, but prefers oils and pastels. Trent has been juried into a number of selected exhibits the past few years including the West Coast Pastel Society 18th International 2004 exhibition, Peninsula Art League 2006 Regional Show, Master Impressionists of America in 2007, and Art About Agriculture 2008 Exhibit. She has had gallery presentations in the Harbor Gallery, Earthworks Galleries, and Campiche Studios Fine Art Gallery. Trent took Best of Show, Purchase Award for Permanent Collection in last year’s WCP Solutions Art Exhibition. In 2003, she has was awarded the Eastside Association of Fine Arts Honorable-Mention and in 2005 the Northwest Pastel Society Honorable Mention. Professional affiliations to Trent include Oil Painters of America, West Coast Pastel Society, and the Olympia Art League. She has also been a president for the Peninsula Art League as well as the Northwest Pastel Society. |
